To stay healthy, lose weight and improve, eliminate, or possibly cure most chronic diseases, Dr. Hopkins recommends a Whole Foods, Plant-Based lifestyle.

Below are excellent reading sources to learn why and how to adopt this life-changing lifestyle - yes, it is really that simple.  Dr. Hopkins strongly recommends that all patients view the movie called "Forks Over Knives," then read as much as you can about this lifestyle and how to incorporate it into your life!  Below is the trailer to the movie, and it is also available on Netflix, or on Amazon.com.  Below Dr. Hopkins has also provided additional films and books to read.

Your vein health, and indeed your health in general, is largely dependent on living a healthy lifestyle.  Sadly, The Standard American Diet (SAD) is largely responsible for most chronic diseases, obesity and cancers.  Daily exercise and eating a whole foods, plant-based diet are the key to avoiding many of life's most unpleasant events related to chronic disease including heart disease, stroke, obesity, most cancers as well as venous and lymphatic disease.

Through evolution, our bodies are pre-programmed to crave high-calorie, animal-based fat and protein.  This gave us a survival advantage in the hunter-gatherer era, when high-calorie food sources were scarce. In modern civilization however, high-calorie, animal-based food products and unhealthy processed foods are in abundance.  This change in our environment (abundance) has out-paced our genetic ability to deal with these changes.  As a result, we eat more animal-based protein and fat and processed foods than ever before in human history.  This is why over two-thirds of Americans are either overweight or obese.  It is also why so many chronic disease like heart disease, diabetes, and cancers are so prevalent.

We have attempted to provide information as to why and how you should incorporate these changes into your daily life.  You control your health.  We all know that proper nutrition and exercise is important, but how do we go about making these changes?

The books, video documentaries, and internet sites recommended below give you tools to improve your health and help to treat and prevent chronic disease, obesity and cancer.  Watch the documentary film "Forks Over Knives," first, then read the book, "Forks Over Knives Plan,"  to jump-start your road to health and weight loss.  The most detailed information can be found in "The China Study."  You can do it, and we are here to help.
